Kate Dormont

Head of Business Operations

Kate is currently enrolled in a dual-degree program at the University of Connecticut, where she will earn her Juris Doctor and Master’s in Social Work in 2026. Prior to returning to school, Kate was a technologist in the nonprofit sector who spent the majority of her career working toward educational excellence and equity. Most recently, she was the Executive Director of Technology at New Leaders, where she led the development of strategic technological solutions to meet New Leader’s business needs and oversaw technology infrastructure for the organization. 

Under her leadership, New Leaders reimagined and relaunched their learning technology system. Kate also led the implementation of New Leader’s data analytics and visualization system, reshaping organizational access to internal data. Prior to joining New Leaders, Kate spent five years at Teach For America, where she worked on several different business teams, helping them design and implement new technologies to increase the efficiency of their work. Kate earned her bachelor’s degree from Princeton University.

In addition to her work, Kate is a huge fan of new media, an early adopter of nearly all new streaming platforms, and has a great interest in how technology can be used in new ways to share art and entertainment with audiences. She is also an avid reader.
